This lovely lace scarf is named after its main pattern stitch "Crest of the Wave", a derivative of the popular Shetland lace stitch Feather and Fan or Old Shale. The main stitch area of graceful lacy waves is surrounded by a knit-as-you-go elegant ribbed openwork border. This is one of my favorite easy lace scarves to knit. The pattern is easily memorized, and it drapes so well in a wide range of yarn weights and fibers.
