This one has a special meaning for me, partly because Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet is one of my all time favourite literary works, but also because the phrase itself rings so true to my significant other and I. We often get teased that our anniversary isn't a “real” anniversary, because we're not officially
married, but he and I are partners in every sense of the word. We're inseparable, indivisible, and our bond is as strong or stronger than most married couples we know, we just haven't ever gotten around to it for many reasons. We've been through trials that would tear many apart, but it only makes our love stronger and I treasure each moment spent with him. So call it marriage, call it a partnership, call it a union, call it common law, love, by any other name, is love.
