Maria stitched her sampler in Norfolk in 1802. The sampler has some features and motifs which are similar to others from the region. I have based the drum design on some of the features typical of Norfolk samplers. The design for the side of the drum measures 203 stitches wide by 93 stitches high. The design for the top of the drum measures 61 stitches wide by 65 stitches high. Both patterns would also be suitable as small pictures. I have also included instructions on how to build the drum from the patterns.
